Hi ~ I'm Alexandra. I’m an integrative psychotherapy trainee, breathwork facilitator, and meditation practitioner based in Lagos, Portugal.

My work is rooted in the belief that healing happens through relationship: with ourselves, with others, with the body, and with the parts of our experience we may have learned to avoid. I’m interested in what helps people become more present, more compassionate, and more able to meet themselves honestly.

I grew up in England and the U.S. and I now live in Lagos, Portugal. I've always been drawn to questions of the mind and consciousness. I have degrees in Psychology and Education, and spent many years working with children with academic, emotional and behavioral difficulties. That work taught me how deeply people need to feel seen, understood, and supported in order to grow. It taught me the importance of empowering the inner self and inspiring confidence to overcome challenges.

I'm currently completing an MSc in Integrative Psychotherapy and will be accepting new clients in October 2026.

My therapeutic approach is integrative, which means I do not believe in a one-size-fits-all model of therapy. Integrative psychotherapy recognizes that cognition, behavior, and physiology are deeply interconnected, shaping how we experience and respond to life. Humans are complex and unique, and I believe psychotherapy should reflect that. I draw from different therapeutic traditions to meet each person as an individual, paying attention to the mind, body, emotions, nervous system, relationships, and the wider context of a person’s life. I’m particularly interested in attachment, self-awareness, emotional regulation, embodied experience, and the ways early relational patterns can shape how we meet ourselves and others.

Alongside psychotherapy, meditation and breathwork have been important parts of my own path. They have taught me the value of slowing down, turning inward, and becoming curious about what is happening beneath the surface. For me, healing is not about fixing ourselves or becoming someone else. It is about learning to meet ourselves more fully, with honesty, compassion, and choice.

I believe science and spirituality can sit alongside one another. Therapy can help us understand our patterns, our histories, and our protective strategies, while contemplative and embodied practices can help us reconnect with presence, meaning, and the felt sense of being alive.

Jung’s idea that what remains unconscious can shape the course of our lives speaks to something at the heart of this work. For me, therapy is a way of gently bringing more of ourselves into awareness, so that we can meet life with greater freedom and presence.

Breathwork sessions can be held at my studio, in the comfort of your home/accommodation, or virtually.

Psychotherapy sessions will be available in person in Lagos from October 2026.
